Second Public Hearing Scheduled for Solar Facility to be Sited in Talbot County

Local residents and other interested members of the public are again invited to comment on a proposal by Halo Cordova LLC to construct a 4.0 MW solar generating facility in Talbot County. The hearing will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites, 8945 Sunflower Drive in Easton. The Public Service Commission has delegated this case to its Public Utility Law Judge Division; Public Utility Law Judge Amy E. Schaeffer will conduct the hearing. Read more
Talbot County Police Accountability Board Releases 2025 Annual Report

The Talbot County Police Accountability Board (PAB) has released its 2025 Annual Report, outlining the Board’s activities, findings, and oversight efforts. The PAB and the Administrative Charging Committee (ACC) were established in accordance with Maryland law as part of a statewide requirement for independent police accountability and oversight. The report was formally submitted to the Talbot County Council and is now available to the public. Read more

The Talbot250 Commission invites the public to the Avalon Theatre for The American Revolution: The Spirit of Service, a special program celebrating the start of Talbot County’s 365th anniversary and the nation’s Semiquincentennial year. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., and will feature a 31-minute screening and a live panel discussion exploring what it means to serve: 250 fifty years ago and now. At its December 9 meeting, the Talbot County Council recognized Cassandra Vanhooser as 2025 Maryland Tourism Person of the Year, introduced CWSP amendments, and held a hearing on alcohol dispensary bistro legislation. Easton Police Department, Talbot County Sheriff’s Office join forces for Talbot Optimist Club’s ‘Shop with a Cop’ event

On Saturday, December 6th, Easton Police Department and the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office came together for the Talbot Optimist Club’s annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ event. This event has police officers pair up with local youths from Talbot Mentors to assist them on a shopping spree for holiday gifts for the youths and their families. Read more
