Public Comment & Participation
Talbot County encourages residents to stay informed and take part in the decision-making process. There are several ways to share your input with the County Council.
Submit Comments Online
Residents can provide feedback on specific topics, projects, and initiatives through our online engagement platform:
https://engage.talbotcountymd.gov
This platform allows you to review materials, stay updated, and submit comments at your convenience.
Email the County Council
Written comments can be sent directly to the County Council at: publiccomments@talbotcountymd.gov
All emails received are shared with members of the County Council for consideration.
Speak at a Council Meeting
Public comment is welcomed during County Council meetings, which are held regularly and open to the public.
Residents who wish to speak may sign up in advance or in person, depending on the meeting format. Each speaker is typically given a limited amount of time to address the Council. Public comment periods are included on meeting agendas and are conducted at the discretion of the Council President.
To ensure a respectful and productive environment, speakers are expected to follow established guidelines, including stating their name and address and directing comments to the Council.
Review Public Comment Protocols
Before attending or participating in a meeting, residents are encouraged to review the County Council’s official public comment guidelines:
View Council Meeting Protocols
These protocols outline procedures for speaking, time limits, and expectations for conduct during meetings.
Stay Informed
Agendas, meeting materials, and updates are posted regularly on the County website. You can also follow Talbot County Government on Social Media or subscribe to email updates for the latest information.
Your voice matters. Public participation helps shape decisions that impact our community today and in the future.
