Lifesaver Marathon

The Talbot County Department of Emergency Services invites residents to participate in the annual Talbot County Lifesaver Marathon, a long-standing community tradition centered on one goal: saving lives.
This year’s event expands its impact by offering multiple lifesaving certifications and trainings in one day at the Talbot County Health Department.
Trainings Offered
- Certified CPR Course
- Stop the Bleed Training
- Narcan Training
Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to respond in emergencies such as cardiac arrest, severe bleeding, and opioid overdose. These hands-on courses provide practical skills that can make the difference between life and death while professional responders are en route.
CPR Registration
This American Red Cross blended learning course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children, and infants. The program combines an online learning component with an in-person skills session, allowing participants to learn the material at their own pace before demonstrating hands-on CPR and AED techniques with an instructor.
Participants will learn how to perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), assist someone who is choking, and respond confidently during emergency situations. Upon successful completion of the online coursework and in-person skills check, participants will receive an American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED certification.

(1) How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound;
(2) How to pack a wound to control bleeding;
(3) How to correctly apply a tourniquet.
These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.

Your sponsorship helps:
- Cover certification fees for CPR participants
- Remove financial barriers to training
- Expand access to Stop the Bleed and Narcan education
- Increase the number of trained residents in Talbot County
