Talbot County Community Pools Open Memorial Day Weekend

Talbot County Parks and Recreation is preparing to welcome the community back to the pools beginning Memorial Day Weekend, with the 2026 outdoor pool season officially opening Saturday, May 23.

Public swim hours for both Talbot County pool locations will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. throughout the season.

The two community pool locations are:

  • George Murphy Community Pool, 410-820-7306, 501 Port Street, Easton, MD 21601
  • Bay Hundred Community Pool, 410-745-6592, 911 S. Talbot Street, St. Michaels, MD 21663

The 2026 pool season includes May 23–25, May 30–31, June 6–7, June 13 through August 23 (seven days a week), August 29–30, and September 5–7. Dates and times are subject to change based on the Talbot County Public Schools calendar, pool events, and weather conditions.

“Our community pools are a great place for families and residents to cool off, stay active, and enjoy the summer together,” said Emily Gilmer, Director of Talbot County Parks and Recreation. “We are excited to welcome everyone back for another fun and safe pool season.”

Daily admission is $5.00, and children ages 2 and under are free. Seasonal memberships are also available and valid at both Talbot County pool locations, including Individual Season Passes for $75, Senior Season Passes for $65, and Family of 4 Season Passes for $200. Additional family members may be added to family memberships for $25 each.

Hello Summer Pool Party

To celebrate the start of summer, Talbot County Parks and Recreation will host a free “Hello Summer Pool Party” on Friday, June 13, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will feature music, games, and community partners, with free pool admission beginning at 3:00 p.m. through closing.

Pool Programming

Talbot County Parks and Recreation will offer a variety of aquatics programming throughout the summer season, including SOS Learn to Swim, youth swim lessons, junior lifeguard training, and adult swim lessons. Through the support of SOS Sink or Swim, thousands of children and adults across the region have received free swim instruction and water safety education.

Additional programming includes lap swim opportunities and water aerobics classes at Bay Hundred Community Pool. Citizens may also reserve either pool location for private parties and pavilion rentals throughout the summer season.
